About Us
Emma, Founder of EL Creative Counsel, brings a rare depth of experience gained from working with some of the most recognised brands in media, entertainment, FMCG and consumer products across Australia, New Zealand, APAC, UK and Europe.
Her career includes significant in-house experience with BBC Studios, where she supported commercial and brand activity across multiple markets, working closely with stakeholders in both Australia, UK and Europe. A highlight of her career at BBC Studios was supporting the launch of the popular TV show 'Bluey' and exploiting ancillary rights across the live entertainment and merchandise space. This gave Emma a strong understanding of how to manage legal risk across different jurisdictions, while still delivering clear, commercially-driven advice that supports fast-moving business and brand objectives.
More recently, Emma held the role of Senior Legal Counsel at The Sanitarium Health Food Company, advising within a highly regulated FMCG environment where brand protection, marketing compliance, licensing, and commercial agreements are critical. A career highlight here was managing the IP and trade mark portfolio for Sanitarium's popular food and beverage brands including Weet Bix, UP&GO, So Good and the Alternative Dairy Co. This experience strengthened her ability to navigate complex consumer law, advertising standards, and risk management while keeping business and brand strategies front and centre.
In the entertainment space, Emma has supported theatre producer Global Creatures on major stage show production matters, notably 'Moulin Rouge, The Musical' bringing hands-on expertise in live entertainment, talent arrangements, production agreements, and commercial negotiations.
This breadth of experience across leading organisations is what makes Emma a trusted legal partner—someone who understands how businesses operate, what matters commercially, and how to protect brands and value while enabling growth and success.
In addition to her career achievements, Emma is a mum of 2 wild, energetic daughters alongside her 'tradie' husband, who live on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW. Her girlfriends and sister fill her cup and she secretly loves the juggle of school runs and hates sleep-ins.
